Job Description

Chemical Process Engineer required for our global client based in Wolverhampton / Staffordshire region.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Chemical Process Engineer to join a growing and highly respected chemical manufacturer. Reporting to the Technical & Engineering Manager, you will ensure complaint and safe design of plant processes and equipment to drive continuous improvement.

Lead and Participate in projects and MOC’S so they are succesffuly completed on time and budget. You will play a lead role to identify improvement opportunities and PICA initiatives.

Duties will include
• Implement company and statutory requirements on HSE by liaison with regulatory bodies and by leading/contributing to HAZOP studies,
• Incident Investigation I SIL/LOPA studies and Safety Audits/Inspections
• Take a leadership/active role in the process design and implementation of new projects and modifications ensuring that current engineering standards and relevant guidelines are adhered to.
• Prepare preliminary and detailed P and I drawings and equipment specifications, both for new projects and plant modifications
• Assist in the commissioning of new plant and equipment assisting in the preparation of commissioning schedules, operating instructions and operator training
• Prepare and maintain records of design calculations, correspondence, flowsheets, technical data, equipment specifications and modifications
• Provide technical input into plant modifications and design
• Maintain a working knowledge of advances in Chemical Engineering processes by attending training courses, seminars and assimilating up to date technical literature
• Take lead role in developing and implementing the human factors systems and ensuring they are followed and adhered to.

Skills & Experience Required:
Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
Experience within lean manufacturting and understanding of basic plant operations and maintenance activities.
Positive attitude, with confidence in own abilities that generates respect from site personnel
and external bodies
Positively influence continual improvements through design and input
Prioritization work to identify key tasks and ensure that this work is driven through to
Lead process and procedure reviews and suggest improvements
Understand and continually develop site systems
Occasional travelling required to
benchmark against other 51 sites and
external companies
Travelling may also be required to
attend training courses

Working Hours: 36.25 basic Monday to Friday.

Salary guide c 45k to £55k D.OE.
