Director of Marketing and Communications - (Contract until March 2020 - Maternity Cover)

We have a fantastic new opportunity for an energetic, creative and determined Director of Marketing and Communications to join our senior management team. There is a tremendous opportunity to deliver an innovative policy and communications strategy and implementation plan to support the achievement of our ambitious vision and business objectives and continue to grow our membership base.

Our client is embarking on an ambitious programme of change, where they aim to become a truly modern, commercial, sustainable and business led organisation that is run for our members, with ideas set by our members. They have an exciting agenda that will increase membership, establish themselves as true partners to the wider business and civic community both locally and nationally, and develop new products and services that businesses have asked for and to develop a team of officers that are focused on the growth and support of all our members.

The Director of Marketing and Communications is a key role that has been created to ensure we communicate and promote ourselves effectively. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our senior management team at a very exciting time in our client’s development.

Communication is critical to our business model and the delivery of our business plan and long-term strategy. We can only do this through a new Communications strategy and implementation of the plan which this new role will lead on developing, managing, delivering and monitoring.

Skills Required:
With a relevant qualification and/or relevant experience in a senior role, you will have a proven track record in Marketing and Communications in either the commercial or public sector. A strategic thinker, you will be a self-starter with excellent networking skills and an entrepreneurial flair.

You will drive forward our Policy agenda and raise our profile through a proactive Marketing and Communications strategy whilst building productive relationships with key stakeholders. A good leader and motivator, you will be able to get the best out of your team and ensure targets are achieved to the highest standard.

Experience Required:
• Experience of developing and implementing strategies and plans.
• Skills to write and implement strategies, especially marketing and communications
• Understanding of monitoring impact of strategies and plans
• Able to run effective marketing and communication campaigns
• Able to manage the media effectively and support others to do the same

Salary Guide: £40 - £48k per annum

Our standard hours of work are 35 per week. The seniority of this role requires some flexibility in response to business requirements including the need to attend some meetings outside normal office hours.
