Job Description

Purchasing / Supply Chain Manager required. Our client, a successful and growing manufacturing company based in Burton on Trent are looking to recruit an experienced Purchasing Supply chain Manager. Reporting to the Operations Director your duties will involve purchasing materials, parts, assemblies, from their raw or initial stage to the finished product stage in an organised and efficient manner. It will also include activities such as planning, scheduling , dispatching and storage of stock levels.

They are looking to appoint a high calibre Purchasing Manager to lead them through a period of tremendous change, opportunity and growth. You will need to be proactive and also confident to negotiate costs and future supply opportunities.

Duties Include:
• To maintain and update live work lists for the shop floor, prioritising work issued from the Sales and Engineering departments.
• To communicate with Purchasing, Sales and Engineering departments to organise production schedules in accordance to site capacity and customer requirements.
• To communicate on a regular basis with the Sales Team, Engineering team and purchasing team, to ensure contracts and large orders are planned correctly.
• To communicate with the Production Managers to discuss and agree Production Plans, Capacity availability, Material availability, and make any required amendments.
• To ensure that the MRP system is maintained on a day-to-day basis and records are kept up to date, and complies with the Company Procedures.
• To provide data and reports to the Site Management Team.
• To carry out Stocktaking procedures as & when required by the business.

Candidate Requirements:
• An experienced Purchasing Manager, you will be able to demonstrate an ability to deliver both strong commercial and operational results within a fast-moving, price and quality conscious manufacturing business.
• To fully understand the production processes of manufacturing products, from raw material supply through to despatch.
• Experience of Production and Planning procedures and JIT manufacturing environments.
• Familiar with MRP systems or similar.
• Experience of Purchasing Stock Control procedures.
• High personal credibility, integrity and vision with strong man management skills
• Ability to adopt and implement procedures.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.

Salary Guide: c£40k - £45k

Working Hours - 39 hours - Days - Monday to Friday
