Job Description

Managing Director required for a well established, privately owned industrial company based in West Bromwich, West Midlands.

Reporting to the Chairman, you will have full P&L responsibility for the strategy, delivery and performance of the Group Sales and Operational teams. Safely and effectively deliver objectives and goals of business whilst continually developing opportunities for efficiency improvements and growth.

To define, execute and implement profitable sales and marketing strategies across both established and start-up Divisions to achieve transformational growth throughout the company

Duties & Responsibilities will include:
• To lead, drive and manage operational teams in delivering excellence across the business operations delivering objectives that have a positive customer and financial impact.
• To develop and deliver against the operational budget and objectives
• To develop the operational business plan to facilitate the success of the strategic growth
• To continually improve and develop operational process to support the business divisions, facilitating and enabling change as the business grows and develops
• To drive process and resource efficiencies to achieve cost reduction and performance enhancement
• To develop and maintain strong collaboration and communications between services and divisions within the group in order to deliver the needs of the business divisions, ensuring quality and customer service are never compromised
• To maximise the capability of the teams and individuals through coaching and development leading to enhanced performance, productivity and succession plans
• To drive the vision and strategies through the sales and marketing divisions of the business.
• To lead, manage and coach a team of Divisional Directors to deliver the sales and profit targets of short and long term strategies.
• To develop aggressive marketing strategies for the Divisions, with a view to market penetration, increase market share and correct brand positioning.
• To lead Company annual Sales, Marketing and Business Development Meetings and play a key role in any other Sales and Marketing related meetings.
• To lead the professional development of all Sales and Marketing employees.
• Full responsibility and accountability for delivering business revenue.
• To ensure workforce planning and budgeting for the Divisions are defined as required to successfully execute strategic goals.
• To manage the Divisional Directors through the sales budgeting and monthly forecasting process.
• To be a functioning member of the Board of Directors, ensuring corporate governance, setting overall Company vision and strategy, budgets and top level objectives.
• Take a hands on approach to the development of customer relationships and the development of new markets.
• To define value propositions for each Division and identify best routes to market.
• To develop and produce strategic reports for the use of the business at both Divisional and Board level, with full analysis including to support proposals and decisions.

Experience and key competencies required
• At least 7 years senior management and leadership experience with a proven career history of delivering successful transformational change and significant growth throughout a business.
• A highly technical aptitude and understanding of engineering products and services.
• Board level experience
• Proven experience in sales and marketing strategy development for both new and established business units, new products and markets
• Proven history in operating across multiple countries
• Proven experience in strategy planning/execution
• Expert in Sales Management and CRM processes
• Highly influential and persuasive
• Exceptional People Management
• Change Management experience
• High level of financial and commercial awareness

Salary Guide: Upwards of £85k to £100k+ Bonus, Car, and other associated benefits.
